BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- Two men are dead after a shooting early Saturday morning near a lounge in south Bakersfield.

Police got the call about the shooting shortly before 1 a.m. at the Westfair Lounge off Wible and Wilson roads.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s with multiple gunshot wounds in front of the lounge. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Family members have identified him to Eyewitness News as 43-year-old Charles Tomlin.

Officers then located another man who had been shot. That man, in his 50s, was sitting in a vehicle north of the lounge and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police got a suspect vehicle description, and an officer later spotted a matching vehicle. The driver of that vehicle wouldn't stop for the officer, and a chase ensued.

Police eventually caught that driver and took the person into custody for questioning.

Anyone with information helpful to the investigation is asked to call Detective S. Shaff at (661) 327-7111.
