Unmarked KCSO car broken into, 4 guns stolen

An unmarked car from the Kern County Sheriff's Office was broken into overnight, with four guns among the items that were stolen.

Sgt. David Hubbard said the car is assigned to an undercover deputy, and it was parked in front of the deputy's home in the area of Heath and Hageman roads in the northwest.

A Colt AR-15, Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun and a Glock 27 handgun were stolen. The Sheriff's Office didn't specify the type for the fourth gun.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating how the guns were stored and how the theft unfolded. No suspects have been identified.
