The Lake Isabella Fire Station had its open house and ceremony Thursday.

The previous fire station and visitor information center needed relocation for the safety modification project.

Many gathered at the Isabella Work Station to tour the fire station and interim visitor center.

The fire station and visitor center is outfitted with solar panels to produce 8 kilowatts of renewable energy for the station.

“We are very pleased with the addition of this facility to our valley," Sequoia National Forest District Ranger Al Watson said in a news release. "The location will improve response time and provide easy access to Highway 178 while contributing to the needs of the community’s health and safety.”

The visitor center is a full-service facility now open the public.
