Vacant house burns in east Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A vacant house caught fire Tuesday morning.

Kern County Fire Battalion Chief Shawn Whittington said firefighters arrived to a “well-established” fire in the home at Virginia Avenue and South Brown Street in east Bakersfield.

The firefighters got a quick knockdown on the fire, Whittington said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
