A woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of robbing a Salvation Army thrift store.

Police Sgt. John Rodrigues said the woman tried on shoes and then attempted to walk out while still wearing them. He said an employee at the thrift store on 19th Street and Union tried to stop her from shoplifting, but the woman pulled out a knife.

“That makes it a robbery when she brandishes the knife,” Rodrigues said.

The suspect was located by detectives nearby.
