BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police said a woman getting out of her car in a parking lot off Rosedale Highway was robbed Monday morning.

The robber flashed what looked like a gun, took the woman’s valuables and then left on a bicycle.

Police Sgt. Brian Holcombe said the man, who was described as a transient, was later caught by officers within the Northwest Promenade, close to the scene of the robbery.

Officers recovered the stolen items, along with a pellet gun they believe the man used.
