BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Xerox representative said Monday that 495 jobs would be cut in Bakersfield. The positions include customer care agents, support staff, supervisors, trainers and quality assurance staffers.
Xerox currently employs approximately 900 people in Bakersfield and 3,100 in California.
"We realize this affects individuals, and every effort is being made to ensure that all employees are treated fairly. Affected employees have the opportunity to apply to other positions within the company," Xerox Corporate Communications Manager Coco Salazar said via email.
The layoffs will be effective starting in April 22, with some employees staying longer to meet their client's changing business demands.
