Youngblood, other sheriffs meet with Trump at White House
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – President Donald Trump on Monday met with representatives of the National Sheriffs’ Association at the White House.
Among those in attendance was Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood.
Youngblood can be heard on video of the meet-and-greet telling the president he comes from Bakersfield.
The president seems to respond with his appreciation for Youngblood's service and the comment, “Good place.”
Youngblood has been a vocal advocate for the Trump administration’s immigration policies, which face resistance in many parts of California.
Trump spoke in support of his border wall plan during the meeting with the sheriffs.
The National Sheriffs’ Association is currently holding its Winter Legislative and Technology Conference in Washington, D.C.
