Condors win 11th game in a row, matches longest team win streak
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
The Bakersfield Condors have matched their longest win streak in team history after winning their 11th straight game 3-1 over the visiting San Jose Barracuda Friday night.
Left Winger Tyler Benson had a goal and an assist to help lead the Condors.
The Barracuda got the scoring opened with a rebound goal by Antti Suomela helping them to a 1-0 lead after the first period.
The second period was all Condors however, as Joe Gambardella scored his 22nd goal of the season on a shot deflection that beat goalie Josef Korenar in the opening minute.
Eight minutes later the Condors took the lead on a shot by Josh Currie for his 20th of the season.
Benson added an assurance goal with six minutes left in the second period when he jammed home a rebound for his 7th goal of the year.
The Condors will look for their 12th straight win Saturday night as they host the San Diego Gulls on Super Hero night.
Visitors will get a chance to meet and take photos with Marvel Comics Spider-Man and Black Panther.
