CSUB men to take on Cal Golden Bears in first round of NIT

Players, coaches and fans of Cal State Bakersfield's men's basketball team gathered Sunday evening for news of what would become of the Runners' season.

Having taken a heartbreaking 70-60 loss to New Mexico State in the Western Athletic Conference tournament, CSUB now looks forward to their next opponent: the California Golden Bears.

The Runners will face the Golden Bears in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament after missing out on the coveted NCAA Tournament spot.

The game will be televised at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN2.
