Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks was arrested late Friday night in Kern County on suspicion of gun crimes.

He was stopped for speeding on northbound Interstate 5 near 7th Standard Road, according to the California Highway Patrol's Buttonwillow office.

The officer who conducted the traffic stop then spotted a gun sitting in Westbrooks' car, according to the CHP. The gun was determined to be loaded.

Receiving stolen property is listed among the charges, because the CHP said the gun had been reported as stolen in 2009.

The CHP said Westbrooks was booked into Kern County jail.

Westbrooks is from Oakland and has played with the Rams since 2014, according to ESPN.
