Hi, Bakersfield! I am so excited to be part of the Eyewitness News team and the Kern County community.
I grew up not far from Bakersfield in Clovis, California. After 10 years away, I am so happy to be back in the Central Valley.
I received my bachelor’s degree in journalism from Arizona State University and shortly after began working as a production assistant for FOX Sports West. I then went on to become a digital media specialist and video editor for a media company in San Francisco. While living in San Francisco I earned my master’s degree in broadcasting and electronic communication arts from San Francisco State, where I eventually became an undergraduate instructor.
Before joining KBAK/BKFX I worked behind the camera as creative media producer for Stanford University. I produced media for faculty, colleges and special departments on campus. During my time at Stanford I collaborated with award winning professors and interviewed countless industry leaders, but I am so happy to be working in television again. I think local stories are the key to building strong communities and I can’t wait to discover the untold stories of Kern County.
When I’m not working you can find me exploring new bars and restaurants around town. I love cooking, photography and a good book. I’m also guilty of watching way too much tv. I try to snowboard and surf whenever I can. I’m a huge Dodger’s fan and love college football (Go Sun Devils!).
If you see me around say hi! Or reach out to me on Twitter and Facebook. I’d love to hear from you.
