I joined the Eyewitness News team in January 2019 and am so happy to be able to call sunny Bakersfield my new home and to begin to tell stories that are important to this community.
I was born and raised in Boston, MA and continued my higher education there graduating from Emerson College in 2018 with a degree in broadcast journalism and minors in leadership & management and global & post-colonial studies. During my time at Emerson I did everything from reporting, producing, editing, filming and writing, all of which truly developed my passion and drive to succeed in the journalism industry.
Upon graduating I accepted a full-time position as an assignment editor at NBC 10 Boston, where I had been interning during my senior year of college. While there I learned so much about how a newsroom should work and how to cover fast paced breaking news, skills I hope to use here in beautiful Kern County.
My love of travel has contributed greatly to me pursuing a career in journalism. I’ve had the privilege of studying abroad in Europe as well as taking annual international trips with my family ever since I was a child. My favorite destination being Iran, where my family lives! Learning about new people, cultures, and places has always been fascinating to me and part of the reason I was so excited to pack up and move across the country to Bakersfield, leaving behind the cold weather in Boston didn’t hurt either!
I truly look forward to meeting everyone in this great community so if you have any story ideas (or good restaurant recommendations) don’t hesitate to reach out via e-mail and social media or just say hi if you see me around town!
